Essential Oils & Diffusers I Use Daily | Health Benefits & Preferences
There are two kinds of people when it comes to essential oils. Those who roll their eyes and those who roll in oils. Let’s just say I am an oily kind of gal…oh god, maybe we shouldn’t say that. Each oil has it’s own purpose and effect of your mind, body, and soul. And I truly believe that aromatherapy is a great tool to use in your daily life.
Essential Oils I Use Daily
First of all, this is my all-time favorite scent in the world. Secondly, orange oils are said to be uplifting and energizing. The perfect scent to apply first thing in the morning as you get ready for your day!
Lavender has opposite tendencies from those of the orange oil. This oil has a more calming effect. Not only through scent but can also be applied topically to soothe certain infections like minor burns or cold sores.
The thrive blend is meant to boost energy, immunity and to purify. I use this in my bedroom to purify the air as it can become a very stuffy room. It smells amazing and reminds me of Patchouli.
Peppermint is perfect for so many reasons. You can add it into shakes, baked goods or anything that you want to taste a little minty (mind you don’t put too many drops because then it becomes very overwhelming). It is also perfect for aches and pains, especially headaches, as it provides a comforting, cooling sensation.
If your an oil addict like me you need to have a diffuser for all occasions whether it be at home or on the go! Plus, they can be the perfect holiday gift for friends and family. Here is what I use to diffuse (ha, see what I did there)!
This diffuser stays contently in my bedroom. I use the thrive to purify our stuffy bedroom and lavender to soothe. There are three settings for 1 hour, 3 hours and 6 hours and will turn off on its own so you can set it and forget it. It also acts as a humidifier and has a rainbow of lights that fade in and out.
This portable diffuser can be used anywhere, whether it be in your car or in the office. It is both battery-operated and comes with a USB cable. I have yet to use it in the office in fear that my coworkers may hate me filling their space with all kinds of aromas. However, the car feature would be a great replacement for fake scented air fresheners and you can plug it right into a phone charging port. Either way, this is perfect for essential oil enthusiasts on the go!
Now this one is really neat. My dad’s girlfriend got us these Vitality Extracts bracelets as we both love oils. The beads are made from lava stones. You put your oil of choice on each stone and rub in. The stones absorb the essential oils and diffuse the aroma as you wear it. I usually put Sweet Orange on throughout the day which provides uplifting properties to keep you energized.
Do They Work?
Essential oils are definitely a personal interest. Some may not believe in the properties that each oil expells, however, I do believe they have the power to help and heal. When it comes to the healing aspects, some may believe that it is all just a bunch of hocus-pocus. However, if there is a natural healing alternative over medication I will try it! And so far, they have calmed some aches and pains such as cramps and headaches through topical application. It may not be a difinitive answer, but it works for me.
