Here we are for another Friday! Life has been a little messy lately. Had a little run in with the neighbors to start the week off and after working all week and starting two different room renovations my house is getting a little out of hand. So I thought what better way to end the week and find some motivation to finish some projects this weekend than to scour the internet for some life-changing organization hacks!
We all could use a little more organization in our lives. I have been living in my new home for five months and have yet to unpack those boxes sitting in the spare bedroom. With spring cleaning underway, I know is it time to get my shit together.
With summer right around the corner and the season of gatherings at our new place is underway, it is important that my house looks like I know what I am doing. Moving so recently and in the middle of the winter left us at a standstill and we seem to continually be living out of boxes. Not to mention the renovation going on creating piles of junk scattered throughout the house. Much like my 10 Clever Spring Cleaning Hacks, I began my search looking for life-changing ways to make every day go a little smoother. Because I am definitely getting sick of scrambling to find that set of keys I swear I had earlier.
1. Outdoor Patio Storage
This truly blew my mind. I am always looking for options to clean up all the junk in my yard but also have to access when outdoor gatherings occur. This is apparently an actual product you can order from Walmart!
2. Hair Weapon Storage
I don’t know about you but my hair curlers, straighteners, dryers and such always end up all over the counter. I have this thing about putting them in a cupboard if they are still slightly warm. Using a file holder would be the perfect solution to putting them away and letting them cool all in one!
Here are some magazine file holders that are already all decorated with Floral prints for you!
3. Bedside Organization
I am ashamed at the disorganized mess I call a side table right now. This seems like an amazing solution, or at least a nifty place to store more bedside junk in.
4. Bottles in Disguise
Rachel Hollis from The Chic Site may be on to something here! Disguise all your shower products in cute matching pump bottles to make your shelves much more uniform. I may just have to steal this idea for myself!
Snag these exact Cobalt Blue Glass Bottles here!
5. Tupperware War is Over
Grab some command hooks and attach a grated office file sorter to the back of you cabinet door. The perfect place to hold tupperware lids hostage so they can’t escape.
6. Keep Your Sheets in Order
My linen closet is non-existent with how messy it is. Pairing all your sheets, folding them and then stuffing them into the matching pillowcase is a brilliant way to make sure all your sheet sets stay together!
7. Bar Cart = Night Stand
When scouring for hacks that I found would suit my life I kept coming across this bar cart transformed into organized night stand. While I am not sure I would actually do this for myself, it seems to be a popular solution!
Grab this exact Rolling Cart here!
8. Organized Trash
I spent the last two days searching for the roll of trashbags! I definitely could have used this organization hack during that trying time. Looks like they took dowels and some curtain rod holders and bam! instant organized trash.
9. Keep It Under Wraps
We moved in January, which means all of our wrapping paper from Christmas got destroyed! I am definitely going to need to DIY this hack for the holiday season so I don’t waste more money buy brand new rolls of paper each year.
10. Overhead Shelving
If you really think about it the space above our doors is a wasted area. Utilizing every inch of your home can actually make everything seem a lot bigger and clearer.
11. Shelving Fake Out
This is such a cute idea! Pick up old books from a thrift store and upcycle them by taking the binding cover off and glue it to create this bookcase illusion. Perfect for hiding all the random trinkets you don’t want cluttering your shelves.
12. Magnet Tricks
Adhesive magnet strips can make life a lot easier in so many ways. Not only would it save a lot of lost bobby pins but I have also seen people using this method in the kitchen to keep knives organized.
13. Counter Caddy
Hanging cooking utensils may just revolutionize my cooking. There is something so satisfying about this photo. I have also seen a similar shelf that is exactly over the over. Either version is great.
14. Kool Aid Toilet Cleaner
I know this isn’t an organization hack but I just couldn’t resist. If you say my clever spring cleaning hacks you saw the Coca-Cola toilet cleaner but here is a kool aid version! Apparently it only works with orange or lemon flavors because the citric acid is the key cleaner.
15. Pantry Containers
I keep telling myself I want to organize my pastas and other dry foods in these containers but just haven’t gotten around to it. Not only is this a great idea to keep your dry foods fresh and protected it also just looks soooo much better.
Organization is definitely a trait that I was not born with. However, I am still trying really hard! Using the hacks may just bring me one step closer as I start officially unpacking and getting everything together. Do you have any hacks that changed your life?
