Rocking Bold Lipstick Colors for One Week | Likes and Dislikes
I envy all the beautiful women out there who have the confidence to absolutely rock lipsticks in any shade. When it comes to makeup, I am a minimalist. Whatever covers the bags under my eyes and I am good to go. So I decided to challenge myself and I don’t mean by wearing a nude lipstick, but vibrant ones as well.
Here is how it went.
Lipstick Colors of Choice
- NYX Lingerie Matte Lipstick in the shades in “Exotic” and “Satin Ribbon”.
Would crack and flake slightly and create the ever so annoying “butthole lip” so I did apply a few times. At one point I had applied too much that it was a thick layer and I just completely removed and re-applied. Other than that the matte is amazing and it doesn’t feel like you are wearing anything. Silky like the lingerie it’s named after, hey hey. Also, I picked these two up at Target.
- L’Oreal Infallible Paints Mattes in two shades, “Velvet Pout” and “Festival”
Both colors were muted when it came to vibrance, however, I am not complaining about that. Another plus was the lack of thickness or clumpiness that these felt like on my lips throughout the day, unlike NYX. You can find this brand at your local drugstore or Walmart.
- Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour 2-Step Lipcolor I believe in the shade “So Pearly Pink” but I could be lying to you.
This one was by far the stickiest of them all. I am also not sure how I felt about the super pink color, however, I paired it with an all black outfit so that kind of made it pop even more! I picked this color up at my local Walgreens.
The Big Reveal (aka Pictures of My Face)
Lipstick Order (Left to Right): Velvet Pout, Festival, Satin Ribbon, So Pearly Pink & Exotic. After seeing the colors all sided by side I personally am so in love with NYX’s Exotic, for me that is
Overall, after seeing the colors all sided by side I personally am so in love with NYX’s Exotic, for me that was the week’s winner. Paired with a casual look and the jean jacket I felt the most confident that day. The other colors I am still getting use to as I struggle to find the perfect shades that compliment my pale skin.
